Lake Nipissing Cottage Rentals
Shuswap Camp is located on the West Bay of Lake Nipissing, a large lake in north central Ontario. The lake is dotted with islands and large expanses of weed beds, home to more than three dozen species of fish. Whether you are happy fishing for abundant panfish, like perch, or want the sheer delight of battling a monstrous musky, Shuswap Camp is the place to be. Walleye pike, largemouth and smallmouth bass, whitefish, sauger, and more all cruise the waters of Lake Nipissing.
All 15 of our housekeeping cottages feature fully-equipped kitchens and three or four-piece bathrooms. Comfortable bedding, linens, and towels as well as satellite TV and DVD players are included. Each cottage has a wooden deck overlooking the water, some at the top of a hill, providing a stunning panoramic view. Stairways are built right into the hill, leading to your own little piece of heaven. Our seven newest cabins are built directly on the lakefront for close-up views. Each cottage has its own fire pit, perfect for sitting around and relaxing, or grilling up the fresh catch of the day.
In addition to be an angler’s dream, the hunting around Lake Nipissing is phenomenal. Deer, moose, partridge and duck are plentiful. Nearby old country roads have no shortage of pheasant, and rafts of ducks hang out in the numerous marshy bays.
The Shuswap Camp dining room ensures that the whole family gets a relaxing vacation, and Mom gets a break from cooking. Enjoy home-cooked meals prepared fresh daily. We have a wide array of items sure to please, daily specials, and we serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Join us on Sundays in the summertime; we serve juicy prime rib with a fabulous salad bar. We do recommend making reservations as our dining room and outdoor patio fill up quickly.
Our dining area seats 60 people and offers some excellent Canadian cuisine. We do recommend that you ensure seating through advance reservations, both the dining room and patio are licensed so you can stroll outside and enjoy the magnificent sunsets. We offer an American Plan on request, however the Housekeeping guests who prefer to cook their own meals can do so in the fully equipped cottages.
