Red Pine Wilderness Lodge

Lady Evelyn Lake Cottages

There is a reason guests continue to return to the Red Pine Wilderness Lodge for a “simply unreel” experience. Actually, there are a few of them, including the comfort that only nature can provide and the peace and quiet that go along with relaxing by a clear, pristine lake surrounded by pine trees.

Every Saturday guests meet at Mowat’s Landing to cross the Montreal River on a barge. This takes approximately 15 minutes. Next comes an eight mile long boat trip where a guide will point out all the major fishing spots that guests can take advantage of later. Then, the group will arrive at the privately owned, seven acre island.

If your group consists of a bunch of fishermen or a family looking for a tranquil vacation away from the hustle and bustle of the city, one of the nine guest cottages will accommodate you perfectly. Each cottage comes with a full kitchen and either two or three bedrooms. The cottages are stocked with some essential kitchen needs like soap and paper towels. There is also no need to worry about bringing linens or towels; they will be provided for you. Each cottage has a private dock to allow for convenience and privacy. The wood stove inside the cottage comes prepared with firewood already cut for you!

Guests to the lodge are not limited to fishing, however, as there are many other activities on the island. There is always a chance you will see a moose or a bear on a nature hike. If you go for a dip in the lake you may find yourself acquainted with otters and beavers that call it home. Hear the cries of the eagles while you sunbathe by the lake’s edge. Don’t forget to bring the camera in case you catch a glimpse of some of these majestic creatures!

The staff members are committed to not only ensuring that guests enjoy their time at the lodge but also to preserving the wilderness that surrounds it.
