Are you looking to escape the frantic pace of the city and spend some time relaxing in the great Northwoods?
Chaudiere Lodge, a remote five-star resort, is situated on an island in Dokis Bay, on Ontario’s Upper French River. Open from the third weekend in May through the third weekend in October, it is the perfect northern getaway for those in the Greater Toronto Area as it is only just over four hours away. The Upper French River is sheltered, providing secluded bays, narrows, islands, and inlets, perfect for paddling a canoe or kayak or fishing. Lake Nipissing and the mouth of the French River offer an immense waterway system that is an angler’s dream. Crystal waters are always just out your door when you’re at Chaudiere Lodge.
At Chaudiere Lodge, guests can choose from one of 14 cozy cottages, spread out over a half-mile of waterfront. The Main Lodge is our huge central gathering place. It encompasses an immaculate commercial kitchen and a beautiful rustic dining room where you can sit by the fire and look out over the river. The lounge walls are decorated with real instruments, just waiting for an impromptu jam session. We also have telescopes available for when we are lucky enough to catch the northern lights.
Chaudiere Lodge is located in one of the most diverse ecosystems the great north has to offer. Whether you come to experience the world-class fishing, paddle down the river, photograph the beauty that surrounds you, or to just kick back and relax with friends and family, we guarantee you will leave with new friends, and memories that will make you want to come back again and again. Chaudiere Lodge is able to accommodate 44 guests at any time, so reserve your piece of heaven today.
