A fishing experience like none other is closer than you think! Come up to Scout Lake Resort & McKenzie Bay Outpost and get the true northwestern Ontario fishing experience. The resort itself is located on Lac Seul, a pristine, extraordinary lake teeming with highly sought after species. Anglers of all skill levels can head out on the water in one of our boats, or bring your own up!
Lac Seul is well known for its muskie, walleye (pickerel) and northern pike. Whilemost fish range between two to five (walleye) or four to ten (northern pike) pounds, trophies of both species are also caught throughout the season. Lac Seul is dotted with islands and inlets throughout the miles of water, providing plenty of shoreline and shelter access. If you’re looking for quieter waters, head to the McKenzie Bay Outpost. A 25 mile ride away, visitors can enjoy the change of scenery and fish as leisurely as they please. With trophy catches emerging every summer here as well, you might find yourself on a fishing trip you’ll never forget! Both Scout Lake and McKenzie Bay have their own accommodations; however, space is limit ed to a single cabin at the outpost. Scout Lake features nine light housekeeping cabins, equipped with electric, that can sleep groups of up to ten people. With 63 beds available at the lake, we can accommodate groups of all sizes!
Individual twin beds are supplied with pillows, mattress covers and blankets and comforters, while the bathrooms are equipped with hot and cold water, bath, shower and flush toilet. The equipped kitchen comes with a cooking range, utensils, fridge and a coffee maker. McKenzie Bay’s single cabin sleeps eight people in bunks, and features a propane-powered kitchen with a wood stove for warmth. This more isolated location is truly a destination for the outdoors man looking to get away from it all.
