Fishing
Discover first hand why Marten River is widely touted as a fisherman’s paradise. Enjoy the bounty of the Nippissing Crown Game Preserve, which encompasses four main lakes totaling 24 kms in length.
Everything needed for a successful fishing excursion is provided, from fresh bait to new boats that include 4 stroke 20 hp electric start motors, live wells and fish finders. Simply grab your camera and your gear, and you’re set for a day of fishing you are not likely to forget.
With the help of one of our skilled fishing guides, locate the seasonal hot spots, catch your limit, or catch and release to your heart’s content.
Guided tours of the back lakes are offered for those who wish to venture into more remote areas.

Black bear hunting
Each September, Marten Lake Lodge hosts our annual black bear hunt. These exclusive packages allow for only 4 hunters per week, and are all inclusive.
Bait is set out three weeks prior to the hunt, and secure stands are located advantageously for long and close range black bear hunting.
Bears are retrieved, skinned and butchered for your convenience. Meat can also be frozen if time permits.
ATV rentals and guided tours.
Marten River Lodge offers guests basic ATV training, and a selection of ATV rentals and tour packages for outdoor adventures that are sure to please.
Explore the grounds
Hiking trails abound, for guests who wish to enjoy the majestic wilderness of Northern Ontario on foot. The grounds at Marten River Lodge also feature tennis and basketball courts, as well as horseshoe and campfire areas.
Hit the beach
The beach at Marten River Lodge is a natural playground for all. Guests are welcome to enjoy the sand, sun, and lakeside fun. Kayaks and toys are provided free of charge.

Our Swiss Trained Chef Peter Binz serves up scrumptious, hearty meals featuring high quality ingredients, and freshly made soups, salads and breads. After dinner, guests may enjoy Northern Ontario’s spectacular evening sky, boasting some of the most beautiful, breathtaking sunsets in the world.
